CONCH OUT AT HAWKS CAY RESORT AND THE GREATER MARATHON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE’S “CONCHTOBERFEST” SEPTEMBER 29 – OCTOBER 2
Weekend festivities include live music, conch fare and family-friendly activities

Duck Key, Fla. – July 25, 2011 – Hawks Cay and the Greater Marathon Chamber of Commerce will host the second annual Conchtoberfest September 29 through October 2. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Take Stock in Children, a nonprofit organization that provides scholarships to Monroe County high school students.

Guests are welcome to explore and discover local artistic and culinary specialties, plus many family-friendly activities. This three-day event will be hosted in front of the Hawks Cay Marina. Conchtoberfest hours are as follows: Friday 5 – 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Below are highlights of this year’s Conchtoberfest:

  • Live music, beer-tasting, family games, and conch blowing contests
  • Local vendors will offer a selection of conch fritters, conch salad, brats, hot dogs, hamburgers and Hawks Cay’s famous Emack & Bolio’s ice cream
  • 60 craft vendors featuring art, jewelry and pottery booths
  • A children’s activities area including face painting, arts and crafts

 

Tickets for daily admission to Conchtoberfest are free for children four and under, all other tickets are available for $5 per person and include onsite parking. For more information, visit www.KeysConchtoberfest.com.
