Dolphin Connection: Our Goal
Our mission is to inspire awareness and positive change for the marine environment through direct contact with marine mammals. We seek to illustrate through personal experience the need for conservation, and strive to communicate this essential message by providing a natural environment for dolphins where they can serve as educational and scientific ambassadors for their marine world. We want each Dolphin Connection program at Hawks Cay Resort to be unique, and to inspire individuals to actively participate in helping protect our underwater habitats. We would also like to educate those visiting the Florida Keys on the importance of using the ocean’s ecosystem responsibly, so that the marine environment we cherish here in the Keys will thrive for future generations to enjoy.The Dolphin Connection was founded in 1996 by Cheryl and Doug Messinger and is widely considered an international leader in the training and care of marine mammals.

The Dolphin Connection program, located in an ocean-fed saltwater lagoon, is home to a pod of friendly and highly-intelligent dolphins that Florida Keys visitors can interact with while learning the importance of protecting Florida's marine ecosystem.
