Q: Last year I was a guest of Roy Zaloom's charter on the "Final Final" with 1st mate Walker. Walker was fantastic and took us to the hump for Black Fin, Mahi Mahi, and for Yellowtail Snapper & Tripletail on the reef on the way back. Full coolers all. I want to take my family on the same trip end of June, 1st couple weeks in July time span. >>>What species will be available at that time? We pray the oil spares the Keys. By the way, when we asked Walker about the conditions, (It was blowing stink) he said "six to eights, with the ocasional ten". Damn ole' Buddy Davis swam through it like a submarine.

A: Love to fish you, come on down. Dolphin fishing should still be good the end of June/July and we still hit the reef on the way back. Call me at 305 684-8650 or 305 743-9000 to book your days.

I loved your boat too! Also if you could include prices that would be helpful too. Thanks so much. Look forward to hearing from you. Bettina Brennan

Q: we're booked for the end of may for a combo trip. mahi and reef/wreck. i fish left handed with conventional tackle . if i bring my own Penn Special Senator, what size/type line should i spool? mono or braid? any specific brand that' better? also, what brand of rod and model works best for reef/wreck fishing? looking forward to our trip.

A: I'm left handed also (but I fish right-handed). We use spinners on the reef and conventional rods on the wreck. I have left-handed spinners. You're welcome to bring your own conventional rod. I'd put 80# Power pro braid on it. See you next month.
