What a weird weather fall this has been! It's been almost as hot as summer for weeks now and the fishing has been great! Nice Bonefish on the Flats, the best fall I can remember for juvenile Tarpon, Mackerel starting to show up in the Bay. Captain Jimmy has had multiple baby Tarpon releases consistently for weeks now. A few days ago, he had a couple on the boat that had literally NEVER fished, so he showed them lots of action with Snapper and Mackerel. They got dinner and reported that they "never knew you could get so much arm exercise fishing!"
The Tropics were quite for us all through the months of September and October. Then suddenly, wham! A storm in the Gulf, and wind here. Nothing Tropical in the Keys, but we've had several days of winds over 20 knots, today the Reef buoys reported gusts over 40 knots. Needless to say, I've been cleaning the boat instead of fishing, but we're just waiting for the seas to settle so we can see what the rest of November has to offer. As soon as the winds drop out a bit, the water will clear up and we'll be back in action.
