Captain Scott Walker has over 30 years of fishing experience and is known throughout the Florida Keys for his professionalism and for his ability to catch big fish. Voted "Best Captain in the Middle Keys" in 2009, Captain Scott has won over a million dollars competing in the prestigious World Sailfish Tournament.

Captain Scott runs the 50' Viking Tailwalker II, and specializes in live bait and kite fishing for sailfish in the fall, winter and early spring. Scott also excels at dolphin (mahi-mahi) and wahoo fishing in the summer months, as well as deep dropping for daytime swordfish.

Nothing makes Scott happier than showing customers a great time on the water, and he loves helping anglers of all ages and skill levels reel in Florida Keys billfish. Captain Scott's "dinner and a show" is a favorite charter fishing trip among Hawks Cay guests. This four-hour trip will take you out to the lively reef for snapper and grouper, and then escorts you to the sailfishing grounds for tail-walking acrobatics.

Hi, I’m Ben Ekblom, captain of the Tailwalker here at Hawks Cay Resort. Before heading out on our unforgettable Duck Key fishing adventure, I wanted to share a little about myself.

First off, I’m a native conch born and raised here in the Florida Keys. Since before I can remember, I was fishing these waters learning the ins and outs of catching sailfish, dolphin (mahi mahi), snapper, grouper, cobia, wahoo, and more.

At the age of 17 I began fishing professionally out of Islamorada. Since then I’ve fished throughout the Caribbean and South America, and have been a part of winning teams in several major fishing tournaments.

I believe that the local knowledge I’ve obtained growing up in the Keys gives me a significant advantage while out on the water, and I look forward to showing you some of the tricks I’ve learned.
